I wrote about Lloyd in my blog on Friday Oct. 16 and included some smiling pictures of him from Chemainus Theatre back in 2004. My blog is called Narrow Shoes and the address is http://www.jeanyspot.blogspot.com

My husband David also remembers him fondly: “Jeany and I had the chance to work with him in Chemainus for a production of I Do! I Do! Lloyd was a taskmaster as musical director, which kept us working hard and motivated us to strive for our best work. He also brought insight into the musical writing and styles of the writers Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt–he knew their other shows so well he could recognize trademark musical ideas throughout the score. He also adapted the score for 2-pianos down to one (which meant 2.5 hours of athletic playing) and played for us for the run of the show.”

    He is greatly missed.

    Max
thanks very much for organizing this. Lloyd has been our musical director for the spring musical for eight years! We are also creating a celebration of his work with us and performing it next week for our Fine Arts Night.
We were so saddened by his sudden passing. We spent many hours remembering Lloyd and his love of theatre, his passion for musical theatre and his joy working with us crazy kids. We have a number of great pictures of him surrounded by students as we worked on Oliver, Anything Goes, South Pacific…
We will be there tonight to celebrate with you!
