TEA MATINEE SERIES - Come and socialize before the show (more)
A fun and social afternoon of complimentary tea, coffee and cookies, starting at 1pm,
followed by a performance at 2pm. These social afternoons are extremely popular with seniors and students. Each production has three Tea Matinee performances, on two Wednesdays and one Thursday.

SALON SATURDAY SPEAKER SERIES - Dig deeper and learn more (more)
Presented in the Playhouse Salon at 1pm, this series brings the audience together with a notable guest speaker to explore some of the underlying themes of the play that follows. Past speakers have included broadcasters, playwrights, (musical) directors, actors, journalists and professors. Held on the third Saturday of each production.

1PM STUDENT MATINEE - Meet the actors (more)
This is the only matinee performance that starts at 1pm. It attracts school groups from across Vancouver Lower Mainland and beyond and starts at 1pm, followed by a lively 15-minute Actor Talkback.
BEHIND-THE-SCENES-TOURS - Support the Playhouse...get involved (more)
Interested in supporting the Playhouse through a monetary or in-kind donation? Wish to learn about what happens behind the scenes? In this one-hour complimentary tour of our Administration and Production you will experience how our talented artisans build the set, props, and costumes for our productions. All existing Playhouse Donors are invited to bring their family and friends to these exciting tours. You'll see our incredible wardrobe collection and workshop, our astounding props department and our carpentry shop. There may also be an opportunity to stop by and see a rehearsal in progress. AUDIO DESCRIBED PERFORMANCES - Onstage action...alive for a visually impaired audience (more)
Audio Description brings the sets, lighting, costumes, characters, and onstage action alive for a visually impaired audience. Through a wireless transmitter a trained Audio Describer imparts this information, between the actors lines. Audience members who use the service, receive the Audio Description through a single earpiece and wireless receiver. Audio Description begins 15 minutes prior to the performance. EarSighted Audio Description is presented in partnership with Kickstart Disability Arts and Culture, and is made possible with assistance from Canadian Heritage, and the City of Vancouver.
